DQIMF 2026 Quartet Fellowship Program

2026 Dali String Quartet Fellowship Program 

The Dali Quartet International Music Festival offers a unique opportunity for pre-formed quartets or experienced students to be in residence for one week at the Festival.

The Quartet Fellowship provides exceptional performance, mentoring and coaching opportunities to musicians with a high level of experience and commitment to string quartet development.

2026 REQUIREMENTS (as individuals)

All participants must re-apply yearly to enter the Quartet Fellowship Program.

1. Online audition including the following repertoire:

-a movement from a Bach Solo Suite, Sonata or Partita.

-a movement from a standard concerto.

2. A written statement of intention.

3. Two letters of recommendation.

PRE-FORMED QUARTET REQUIREMENTS

  1. Two movements of contrasting style from standard quartets.
  2. A written statement of intention on behalf of the quartet.
  3. Two letters of recommendation on behalf of the quartet.

Pre-formed quartets, please submit individual application forms and individual application fees for each member.

BENEFITS

-A week of daily chamber music coaching, workshops, rehearsals with Dali Quartet members and distinguished faculty.

-Workshops on career opportunities in chamber music, community outreach programming, audience development, and chamber music pedagogy.

-A 30 minute quartet recital

-One educational or community outreach performance.

– Daily coaching opportunities to the Pre-College students of the Festival.

The chosen quartets will be fully supported by mentorship from Dali Quartet and distinguished faculty.  Fellows will have additional networking opportunities and will receive advice in career opportunities in chamber music and entrepreneurship. Fellowship Quartets play a recitals on Friday August 1st and Saturday August 2nd at 7pm.

2026 IMPORTANT DATES

-Application Deadline: May 15th

-Welcome Meeting for Fellows: Saturday August 1st at 11am (travel day July 31st)

-Fellows Quartet Recitals on Friday August 7th and Saturday Aug. 8th at 7pm

-Final Camerata Concert: Sunday August 9th at 4pm

FEES ($300 Total Fellowship cost per player)

-A $150 non-refundable application fee (due at application time)

-$150 tuition fee (due July 15th)

-Your own travel cost.

-Extra meals and dining out on evenings.

-Lunches and housing will be covered by the Dali Quartet Festival.
