ArCoNet & BAPNE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2014, ArCoNet has stablished a partnership with the BAPNE\u00a0method. This internationally recognized method, created by Dr. Javier\u00a0Romero, is based on the use of body percussion and rhythms to\u00a0stimulate cognitive functions in order to develop multiple\u00a0intelligences and improve abilities in processes such as attention,\u00a0concentration, memory, brain lateralization and body dissociation.\u00a0The methodology also provides resources and tools for people with\u00a0special educational needs with specific conditions such as dyslexia,\u00a0ADHD, alzheimers, parkinson, brain damage, cognitive impairment,\u00a0among others.<\/p>\n

The word BAPNE is an acronym formed of the words:
\nBiomechanics, Anatomy, Psychology, Neuroscience and Ethnomusicology.\u00a0By combining all these disciplines, Dr. Romero created exercises that\u00a0are focused on developing the Multiple Intelligences through teaching\u00a0body percussion.<\/p>\n

ArCoNet will join a prominent network of partners and will leverage\u00a0the BAPNE method and Philosophy in the United States territory. “We\u00a0are thrilled to welcome ArCoNet as a new partner, this Organization’s\u00a0holistic approach to music learning and community development will\u00a0expands the organization offering and academic curricula,” said\u00a0Javier Romero, creator and head of the BAPNE worldwide network.<\/p>\n

About Dr. Javier Romero Naranjo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Javier Romero Naranjo has a doctorate in Musicology from\u00a0Alexander von Humboldt University in Berlin, where he specialized in\u00a0early music and carried out his doctoral thesis on Baroque polychoral\u00a0music under the direction of the musicology professor Hermann\u00a0Danuser. His thesis, written in German, received the highest\u00a0distinction possible. He has studied both classical guitar and\u00a0conducting to a very high level, the latter being a subject that he\u00a0perfected in Germany when taught by Karl-Heinz Werner and Constantin\u00a0Alex. He did his undergraduate degree in Geography and History; he\u00a0then completed a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from the\u00a0University of Maryland (USA). He is a university lecturer accredited\u00a0by ANECA (Spanish National Agency for Quality Evaluation and\u00a0Accreditation in Higher Education) and coordinates the doctorate\u00a0courses on “Research in musical education and movement. Teaching of\u00a0Body Percussion” at the University of Alicante.<\/p>\n

His primary teaching activity consists of seminars at universities\u00a0and training centers in the USA, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Costa\u00a0Rica, Canada, Italy, Germany and Spain. He is the author of various\u00a0different published pieces of investigation in prestigious research\u00a0centers and universities such as the Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de\u00a0Musicolog\u00eda (Spanish Musicology Society) and the CSIC (Spanish\u00a0National Research Council). Javier Romero is involved in seminars and\u00a0doctorate courses in Spain, Mexico, Italy and Venezuela with the\u00a0FESNOJIV (the winning university of the Prince of Asturias prize),\u00a0the UCLA and the University of Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

He manages various research projects within the university framework\u00a0and has also been on the examining board of various different\u00a0doctoral theses.<\/p>\n

He has carried out field work on movement in different cultures,\u00a0mainly in Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Senegal, Ghana, Gambia, South\u00a0Africa and Ethiopia. His contribution has earned him the interest of\u00a0various different media agencies, through report and interviews on\u00a0TVE, RAI, Cadena COPE, RAC 1 and Promar TV, amongst others.<\/p>\n

ArCoNet (The Arts & Community Network) is an incorporated nonprofit\u00a0organization founded by Adriana Linares in April 2012, committed to\u00a0offering high quality music education, cultural and intellectual\u00a0activities by:\u00a0Influencing the lives of children, youth and the community through an\u00a0innovative music learning program championed by a professionally\u00a0supported relationship, and to assist them in empowering their\u00a0potential, confidence and skills as they grow to become successful\u00a0and caring individuals. The\u00a0program started as a one-woman operation out of Adriana Linares’s\u00a0private studio and now has over one hundred students and more than\u00a0ten affiliates.<\/p>\n
