The Dali Quartet International Music Festival Orchestra Concert

LANSDALE, July 12 – ArCoNet and Dali Quartet announce its 13th annual Dali Quartet International Music Festival Orchestra Concert on August 7th at Zoellner Arts Center on the Campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The concert will feature all The Festival Orchestras in collaboration with:

The program features Paul Salerni’s Schinichi Rag and Hugging the Shore, Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Ocean Storm, Tchaikovsky Serenade for String Orchestra and Astor Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango among others.

The mission of ArCoNet, The Arts & Community Network, is centered in influencing the lives of children through innovative music programs and community actions thus they become successful and caring individuals. The Dalí Quartet International Music Festival is a recognized founded in 2004 by Violist Adriana Linares and Violinist Carlos Rubio (member of the Dali String Quartet). The Festival runs under the umbrella of ArCoNet in collaboration with members of the Dali Quartet and ArCoNet Strings Faculty.
During twelve years of existence in the Lansdale vicinity, the DQMF has grown from twenty local students to more than seventy from around the world (Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Colombia). DQMF attracted prominent musicians that recognize and convey the importance of music and arts as instruments of socio-cultural change. This year ArCoNet started an ambitious project of presenting the finale concert of the DQMF and student’s achievements, with an Orchestra Concert and Music Exhibition in the city of Philadelphia. This Concert will expand the Organization’s horizon and also to reach out and expose classical music to new areas and communities in the Delaware Valley.

The Dali Quartet International Music Festival
The Dalí Quartet International Music Festival (DQMF) is an internationally recognized Chamber Music and Orchestra Program founded in 2004. The DQMF offers students a unique experience through artistic, musical, educational, cultural and social experiences.
At the DQMF, students attend faculty recitals, daily chamber music coaching/rehearsals, string orchestra sectionals/rehearsals, master classes, fun social integrating activities, and a variety of workshops topics such as: Instrument Making, Body Mapping and Body Awareness, Jazz Improvisation, College Preparation/Career Opportunities in Music, Venezuelan Folk Music, Brazilian Percussion, Japanese Flute, Middle Eastern Music, and Puerto Rican Plena Dance.
Daily Coaching and Master Classes are led by prominent artist faculty with active international careers in music education and performance including members of the Dali Quartet, Philadelphia Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony and the New York City Ballet Orchestra and music faculty from The Oberlin Conservatory, Indiana University, Michigan State University, the Curtis Institute of Music, ArCoNet and Temple University.
The Faculty Concert on Sunday July 31st will feature The Dali Quartet and kicks off the ten days experience and culminates with three exciting chamber music recitals featuring twenty chamber groups and The Grand Finale Orchestra Concert featuring four orchestra divisions.
Alumni from the DQMF have followed careers in music having attended prestigious institutions such as the Curtis Institute of Music, Reina Sofia Conservatory, The Cleveland Institute of Music, Bard Conservatory, the Colburn School, University of Michigan, the New England Conservatory, Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, among others.
The DQMF will take place at: North Penn Church of Christ, 300 North Wales Road, North Wales Pennsylvania, from July 29th to August 7th.

ArCoNet (The Arts & Community Network) is an incorporated nonprofit organization founded by Adriana Linares in April 2012, committed to offering high quality music education, cultural and intellectual activities by:

ArCoNet is an umbrella organization embracing a wide spectrum of high quality music and other arts programs ranging from private lessons, youth orchestras, pre-college and community initiatives. ArCoNet is the outgrowth of the “Strings and The outh Orchestra programs”, which were founded by the prominent Venezuelan Violist Adriana Linares. The program started as a one-woman operation out of Adriana Linares’s private studio and now has over one hundred students and more than ten affiliates.
The Dalí Quartet is today’s freshest voice in Classical and Latin-American music. Anchored in both Venezuela’s El Sistema and in American classical conservatory traditions, this exciting young quartet combines the best of both worlds.
The Dalí Quartet’s captivating performances of traditional string quartet and Latin-American repertoire create an extraordinary concert experience that takes listeners on an eclectic journey of rhythm and sound. In the spirit of famed Spanish artist Salvador Dalí, the Dalí Quartet embraces imagination and excellence as central to its art form.
The quartet is comprised of award-winning solo and chamber artists who have appeared at Carnegie Hall, toured widely in Europe and Asia, collaborated with some of the finest composers of our time, and recorded for Dorian, Centaur and Naxos. Based in Philadelphia, the quartet has brought the Latin-Classical connection to television, festivals, educational, and presenting organizations on tour in Canada, the U.S., and South America. Recent and upcoming engagements include performances in New York, Toronto, Washington D.C., Detroit, Corpus Christi, Tulsa, and beyond.
The Dalí Quartet serves as Quartet in Residence for the Arts & Community Network where it hosts the Dalí Quartet International Music Festival. The Dalí is also a Resident Ensemble of the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra in Philadelphia, which is dedicated to normalizing minority participation in classical music. A part of the Dalí Quartet’s mission includes the presentation of many educational concert activities each year – its popular events for students in grades K-12 are complemented by interactive concerts for the entire family.
Trained by world-renowned artists, members of the Dalí Quartet have studied at esteemed institutions such as the Cleveland Institute of Music, Indiana University Bloomington, Yale University and the Simón Bolivar Conservatory in Caracas, Venezuela.
