Manor College Musician Scholars Program launches

ArCoNet-Manor-Signing

Students who are studying music at The Arts and Community Network (ArCoNet) and want to pursue a degree can now turn those studies into college credit at Manor College.

The arrangement is the result of a recently signed agreement between the two institutions that officially launches the ArCoNet Musician Scholars Program @ Manor College. ArCoNet students can earn as many as 12 additional credits for the music classes they have taken at ArCoNet.

ArCoNet offers the highest quality in music education, and instrumental ensemble and orchestra performances, as well as private lessons. ArCoNet attracts artists nationally, as well as internationally, from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. International students who are eligible for an F1 Visa will benefit greatly from the newly announced partnership with Manor College.

“We have streamlined the process and increased support and scholarships for International students and grant college credit for prior learning,” explained Dr. Stephen Grieco, associate dean of Academic Affairs at Manor.

“ArCoNet has the opportunity to broaden their base, and say to their international students who intend to stay in the country for at least a year, ‘Enroll at Manor,’ since we are their exclusive educational partner in this regard,” Grieco further explained.

In addition to generating an additional revenue stream for the college, Manor benefits from the agreement by realizing an influx of individuals to its student body and residence hall, who are diverse in not only their nationalities and ethnicities, but also their experience, creativity and skill sets.

“Adding this wide breadth of additional diversity to our campus just makes for a richer educational experience for everyone here,” added Grieco.

“The partnership with ArCoNet is just one more example of our dedication to our students and our ability to offer unique and meaningful learning opportunities,” Grieco added. “Manor College students enjoy personalized attention, dedicated support, and a high quality education. We welcome international students and have many services and individuals who are prepared to help make their time at Manor College meaningful, fun, and successful.

“With high graduation rates, and the ability to earn advanced degrees through our new University Center @ Manor College, students can study with the confidence and support they need and deserve from a quality institution of higher learning,” Grieco concluded.
